We premiered the Apache Indian Artist documentary in Oklahoma City at the Oklahoma History Center as a part of a larger exhibit featuring the work of the Houser/Haozous family. The film was well received by the community and the Houser/Haozous family were pleased with the film. Can’t ask for more than that. Here are some photos from the event. We will be applying to the major film festivals for 2009 including Sundance, Cannes, South by Southwest and Tribeca. We will also submit it to about 80 other festivals throughout the year, will keep you all posted which ones accept.

Six14 Productions teamed up with director Bryan Beasley and InAsMuch Foundation in Oklahoma to produce a 30 minute documentary intended for PBS Chronicling the life of Allan Houser an Apache Indian artist. We spent a week in Santa Fe interviewing the family and a week in Oklahoma City interviewing the historians at the Oklahoma History Center. It was quite a journey spending time with such an artistic family, Allan’s wife and sons Phillip, Bob and Stephen welcomed us into their world and gave us some amazing material. A lot of long days and nights were worth the effort. Oklahoma Educational Television Authority (OETA) is going to air the Documentary in January and sponsor it for National Distribution.
